Classic Southern Pecan Pie

Pumpkin pie may be the traditional Thanksgiving dessert, but Southern pecan pie is the ultimate showstopper. With a buttery crust and gooey, caramel-like filling, it’s a decadent end to your meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust
  • 3 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup light or dark corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a bowl, whisk together corn syrup, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and salt.
  • Stir in pecans and pour into the pie crust.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes, until the center is set.
  • Cool before serving.
